Chapter 2 of 1 kings deals with the death of King David and the succession of the throne by Solomon, his son. In this chapter David gives Solomon instructions on how he must behave as King and also orders some of his enemies to be punished. Following are five Bible verses related to the topics addressed in 1 Kings 2.
Psalm 72:1: "O God, give the King your judgments, and your righteousness to the Son of the King." This psalm talks about justice that must be exercised by kings and how they must govern with equity. Proverbs 20:28: "Mercy and truth keep the king, and with mercy sustains his throne."
