1 Kings, 11

38. And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do [that is] right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.

1 Kings 11 describes the apostasy of King Solomon, who disobeyed the Lord by marrying many foreign women and allowing them to introduce idolatry in Israel. The chapter also talks about the end of Solomon's reign and the division of the kingdom of Israel after his death. Here are five verses related to the topics addressed in 1 Kings 11:

Deuteronomy 17:17: "And you will not take many women to you, so that your heart may not deviate; and will not accumulate much silver and much gold." This verse shows how Solomon disobeyed this law of God, marrying many foreign women who brought idolatry to Israel.

1 Kings 11:43: "And Solomon slept with his parents, and was buried in the city of David, his father; and Robuam, his son, reigned in his place." This verse shows how Solomon's reign came to an end, leaving a mixed legacy of great wisdom and wealth, but also of disobedience and apostasy.
