Luke, 21

12. But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, dragging you before kings and governors, for my name's sake.

St. Luke 21 deals with Jesus' teachings about the signs that precede his second coming and the need to be prepared for this moment. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in the chapter:

2 Peter 3:10: "There shall come, as a thief the day of the Lord, in which heaven will pass with a great crash, and the elements, burning, shall dissolve, and the earth, and the works that exist in it, will be discovered. " This verse talks about the second coming of Christ and the consequences it will have to earth.

Matthew 24:42: "Watch, for you do not know what day your Lord comes in." As in St. Luke 21, Jesus emphasizes the importance of vigilance and readiness for his second coming.
