Baruch, 3

7. That is why you have put your fear into our hearts and we call upon your name. And we will praise you in our exile for we have removed from our hearts all the wrong of our fathers who sinned against you.

Baruc 3 is a chapter of the Old Testament that presents a sorry prayer, in which the Jewish people recognize that they have disobeyed God and now suffer the consequences. They ask for the mercy and forgiveness of God and comfort themselves in their faithfulness. Below are five verses from other Bible books that relate to the topics covered in Baruc 3:

Psalm 79:8: "You do not remember against us from the iniquities of our ancestors; come quickly to our compassion, for we are very slaughtered." This verse recognizes that the people of God suffers the consequences of the sins of their ancestors and ask for God's compassion.
