2 Kings, 8

21. Then Joram went to attack the city of Zair with all his chariots of war. Rising by night he managed to escape from the Edomites, who had surrounded him and his chariot commanders, but the troops had fled.

Chapter 8 of 2 Kings tells the story of Hazael, a man who would eventually become king of Syria, and his interaction with the prophet Elisha and King Jehora of Israel. Hazael visits Elisha disguised and asks about the health of King Jeorão, while in fact he was interested in knowing if he would be able to become king. Later, Elisha sends one of his disciples to anoint Hazael as king of Syria, but also prophesies that he will cause much destruction. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 2 Kings 8:

Isaiah 7:16: "For before the boy knows how to say 'daddy' or 'mom', the power of apricot and the spoil of Samaria will be taken by the king of Assyria." This verse talks about the fall of apricot, which is mentioned in 2 Kings 8:7.
