Chapter 10 of 2 Chronicles narrates the story of how King Roban, Son of Solomon, became the king of Judah after his father's death. He is confronted by Jeroboam, leader of the Kingdom of Israel of the Northern, who asks Robano to reduce the tax burden imposed on the people. 1 Kings 12:15: "Then the king did not hear the people; for this change came from the Lord, that the word that the Lord had spoken through Aeas, the Silonite, Jeroboam, son of Naters." If Roban had loved his people and considered his needs, he could have avoided the division of the kingdom of Israel.
