1 Kings, 3

26. Then the woman whose son was alive said to the king out of pity for her son, "Oh, my lord, give her the living child but spare its life." The other woman, however, said, "It shall be neither mine nor yours. Divide it!"

1 Kings 3 reports Solomon's wisdom and his choice to ask God for wisdom rather than riches or fame. Proverbs 2:6: "For the Lord gives wisdom, and knowledge comes from his mouth and understanding." This verse points out that wisdom comes from God, which is exactly what Solomon asks in 1 Kings 3.
