21. And so when Hadad heard in Egypt that David had slept with his fathers, and that Joab the commander of the army was also dead, he said to Pharaoh, "Let me go back to my own country."

1 Kings 11 describes the apostasy of King Solomon, who disobeyed the Lord by marrying many foreign women and allowing them to introduce idolatry in Israel. Deuteronomy 17:17: "And you will not take many women to you, so that your heart may not deviate; and will not accumulate much silver and much gold." This verse shows how Solomon disobeyed this law of God, marrying many foreign women who brought idolatry to Israel.
