Wisdom of Solomon, 11

5. For through water, their enemies had been punished, by the corruption of their drinking water; and so, among them, when the sons of Israel lacked the abundance they would have had, their enemies rejoiced;

Chapter 11 of the Wisdom Book presents a reflection on divine action in the history of humanity, showing how God leads and protects his people. Moreover, the importance of recognizing the greatness of God and relying on his wisdom stands out. Following are five verses related to these themes:

Psalm 139:5: "You have surrounded me behind and on, and put your hand over me." This verse highlights God's action in people's lives, protecting them and taking care of them.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust the Lord of all your heart, and do not stir in your own understanding. Recognizes him in all your ways, and he will straighten your paths." This verse shows the importance of trusting God and recognizing his wisdom, allowing him to direct our ways.

Isaiah 55:8-9: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways my ways, says the Lord. For, just as heaven are higher than the earth, so are my ways the most High than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. " This verse emphasizes the greatness and wisdom of God, showing that their ways are higher and wiser than ours.

Romans 11:33-34: "O depth of riches, both wisdom, and of the science of God! How unsetable their judgments are, and how unscructable, their ways! your counselor? " This verse highlights the wisdom and greatness of God, showing that their ways are unfathomable and that no one can completely understand their plans.

Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now, to the one who is powerful to do everything much more abundantly beyond what we ask or think, according to the power that operates in us, to this glory in the Church, by Jesus Christ, in all generations, forever and ever. Amen! " This verse highlights God's greatness and ability to do much more than we can ask or think, showing that we can fully trust his wisdom and power.
