St. Mark 15 describes the arrest, judgment and crucifixion of Jesus. The chapter is rich in detail and emotion, and reveals the injustice that Jesus suffered in the hands of the religious and political leaders of his time. Isaiah 53:5: "But he was wounded by our transgressions, and ground for our iniquities; the punishment that brings us peace was upon him, and by his footsteps we were healed." This prophetic verse of Isaiah talks about the suffering that Jesus endured in the name of humanity. He carried our sins and was punished in our place.

This verse encourages us to follow the example of Jesus, who endured the cross and overcame temptation so that we may have eternal life with Him in heaven.
