Genesis, 13

10. And so Lot, lifting up his eyes, saw all the region around the Jordan, which was thoroughly irrigated, before the Lord overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It was like the Paradise of the Lord, and it was like Egypt, approaching toward Zoar.

Genesis 13 tells the story of Abram and Lot separating, after becoming very rich in cattle and goods. Abram offered Lot the choice of place where they would settle, and Lot chose the fertile land of the Jordan Valley. Here are five verses related to the topics addressed in Genesis 13:

Genesis 12:7: "The Lord appeared to Abram and said, 'To your descent I will give this land.' There Abram built an altar dedicated to the Lord, who had appeared to him. " This verse speaks of God's promise to Abram of giving him the earth in which He lived. The promise is fulfilled later when its descendants conquer the promised land.

Genesis 15:1: "After that, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: 'Don't be afraid, Abram! I am your shield; great will be your reward!'"
