1 Thessalonians, 3

5. For this reason also, I was not willing to wait any longer, and I sent to find out about your faith, lest perhaps he who tempts may have tempted you, and our labor might have been in vain.

Chapter 3 of 1 Thessalonians describes how Paul sent Timothy to know the news of the The Church in Thessalonica and to encourage them in their faith. Timothy comes back with good news about the firmness of the faith of the Thessalonians, which brings great comfort to Paul.
