1 Maccabees, 7

7. Now then send a man whom you trust; let him go and see all the ruin which Judas has brought upon us and upon the land of the king, and let him punish them and all who help them."

The seventh chapter of 1 Maccabees reports the battle between the armies of Judas Macabeus and the Antiochus King. During the fight, many Jews die and their bodies are dishonored by enemy soldiers. 2 Chronicles 13:18: "Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they trusted the God of their parents." This verse talks about the victory of King Abias of Judah about King Jeroboam of Israel, who trusted his own armies instead of trusting God. This victory is similar to that of Judas Macabeu in 1 Maccabees 7, where victory is granted to him because he entrusted to God.
