1 Maccabees, 3

11. When Judas learned of it, he went out to meet him, and he defeated and killed him. Many were wounded and fell, and the rest fled.

1 Maccabees 3 narrates Judas Macabeu's first victories against the Greek forces, who tried to impose their culture and religion on the Jewish people. The chapter describes the Judas Army organization and its battle strategies. Next are five verses related to the topics addressed in 1 Maccabees 3:
