1 Kings, 3

6. And Solomon said, "Thou hast shown great and steadfast love to thy servant David my father, because he walked before thee in faithfulness, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart toward thee; and thou hast kept for him this great and steadfast love, and hast given him a son to sit on his throne this day.

Proverbs 2:6: "For the Lord gives wisdom, and knowledge comes from his mouth and understanding." This verse points out that wisdom comes from God, which is exactly what Solomon asks in 1 Kings 3.

Proverbs 3:13: "Blessed man who finds wisdom, and the man who acquires knowledge." This verse shows the importance of wisdom, which Solomon seeks in 1 kings 3.
