1 Maccabees, 13

29. And in these he made cunning devices, about the which he set great pillars, and upon the pillars he made all their armour for a perpetual memory, and by the armour ships carved, that they might be seen of all that sail on the sea.

Chapter 13 of 1 Maccabees continues the narrative of the war between Judas Macabeus and the enemies of the people of Israel. Ephesians 6:11: "Coat of all God's armor, that you may be firm against the shrewd cunning of the devil." This verse shows the importance of spiritual preparation for battle and how important it is to have strong armor to fight spiritual enemies.
