Hosea, 4

3. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth in it shall languish with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of the air: yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be gathered together.

Chapter 4 of Hosea addresses the question of idolatry and the lack of knowledge of God by the people of Israel and its leaders. Isaiah 1:2-3: "I heard, O heavens, and hear, O earth; for the Lord said, I raised children, and magnified them; but they rebelled against me.
