2 Chronicles, 33

14. After this he built a wall without the city of David, on the west side of Gihon in the valley, from the entering in of the fish gate round about to Ophel, and raised it up to a great height: and he appointed captains of the army in all the fenced cities of Juda:

Chapter 33 of 2 Chronicles narrates the story of Manasseh, son of Hezekiah, who reigned in Judah for 55 years and did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord, leading the people to idolatry and the practice of abominations. Following are five verses related to the topics covered in the chapter:

2 Kings 21:9: "But they did not hear; and Manasseh made them extract more than the nations that the Lord had destroyed from before the children of Israel." This verse illustrates the extension of Manasseh apostasy and as it affected not only him, but all the people of Judah.

Isaiah 55:7: "Leave the wicked to his way, and the evil man his thoughts, and convert to the Lord, to be sympathetic to Him; become to our God, because it is great to forgive." This verse talks about the importance of conversion and repentance, emphasizing that God is merciful and willing to forgive those who turn to Him.

Psalm 32:5: "I confess to my sin, and my wickedness did not cover up. This psalm highlights the importance of sins confession and how this can lead to forgiveness and restoration.

2 Chronicles 34:27: "For thy heart has managed, and humble you before God, listening to his words against this place and against his inhabitants, and humiliated to me before me, and ripped his garments, and cried before me, I also heard you, says the Lord. " This verse talks about God's response to humility and repentance, indicating that he is willing to forgive and hear those who turn to him.

2 Corinthians 7:10: "For sadness according to God produces repentance for salvation, which to no one brings weighing; but the sadness of the world produces death." This verse highlights the importance of sadness and pain in the Christian life, pointing out that it can lead to repentance and salvation.
