1 Maccabees, 7

47. And they took the spoils of them for a booty, and they cut off Nicanor's head, and his right hand, which he had proudly stretched out, and they brought it, and hung it up over against Jerusalem.

The seventh chapter of 1 Maccabees reports the battle between the armies of Judas Macabeus and the Antiochus King. During the fight, many Jews die and their bodies are dishonored by enemy soldiers. 2 Chronicles 13:18: "Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they trusted the God of their parents."
