Judith, 8

3. For he was standing over those who bound sheaves in the field, and the heat overcame his head, and he died in Bethulia, his own city, and he was buried there with his fathers.

Judite 8 describes how Judith convinced the elders of her city to allow her to leave the city gates to surrender to the Assyrians. She used her wisdom and eloquence to persuade them that this was the only way to save the city. Then she went to the Assyrian camp, where General Holofernes deceived and cut her head, bringing the victory to Israel. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in Judite 8:
