2 Maccabees, 13

8. And indeed, this satisfied justice, for just as he had committed many offenses toward the altar of God, the fire and ashes of which are holy, so was he condemned to die in ashes.

1 Kings 8:44: "When your people go to the war against the enemy you have been to send you, and pray to the Lord, turned to the city you have chosen and to the temple I built for your name." This verse highlights the importance of praying toward the temple of God, something Judas and his men also did during battle.
