2 Kings, 17

29. And each of the nations made gods of their own, and they placed them in the shrines of the high places, which the Samaritans had made: nation after nation, in their cities in which they were living.

Chapter 17 of the book of 2 kings describes the fall of the kingdom of Israel, which had moved away from God and adopted pagan practices. Deuteronomy 28:64: "And the Lord shall spread you among all peoples from one end of the earth to the other." This verse predicts that if the people of Israel move away from God, he will be dispersed among the nations.
