Nehemiah chapter 12 tells the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem after its reconstruction. In it, the priests and Levites are listed who led the people in celebrating the dedication, as well as the musicians and singers who accompanied the event. 1 Chronicles 25:6: "All of these were under the direction of their parents to the singing in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, jumps and harps, to the ministry in the house of God, under the direction of the king, of Asaph, of Jedutum and Heman. " This verse mentions the importance of musicians and singers in the service of the temple, a function highlighted in Chapter 12 of Nehemiah.
Nehemiah 12:31: "Then I raised the princes of Judah over the wall, and constituted two major praises and thanksgiving companies, the first of which went to the right over the wall to the mourning door." " This verse describes another celebration of dedication, this time from the temple built by Solomon, and highlights the presence of priests and Levites with their musical instruments, another element present in the celebration of the dedication of the walls of Jerusalem.
