Ezéchiel, 36

1. Et toi, fils de l'homme, prophétise aux montagnes d'Israël et dis: Montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole de Yahweh:

1. As for you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel: Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD!

2. Ainsi parle te Seigneur Yahweh: Parce que l'ennemi a dit de vous: " Ha! Ha! les hauteurs éternelles sont devenues notre propriété"

2. Thus says the Lord GOD: Because the enemy has said of you, "Ha! the everlasting heights have become our possession"

3. à cause de cela prophétise et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Attendu qu'on vous a dévastées et foulées aux pieds de toutes parts, pour que vous fussiez une propriété pour ce qui reste des nations, et attendu que vous avez été l'objet des discours des langues méchantes et des malins propos des gens,

3. (therefore prophesy in these words: Thus says the Lord GOD:); because you have been ridiculed and despised on all sides for having become a possession for the rest of the nations, and have become a byword and a popular jeer;

4. à cause de cela, montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur Yahweh: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: aux montagnes et aux collines, aux ravins et aux vallons, aux ruines désolées et aux villes abandonnées, qui ont été livrées au pillage et à la risée de ce qui reste des nations d'alentour;

4. therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD: (Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have been given over to the pillage and mockery of the remaining nations round about;

5. à cause de cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Oui, dans le feu de ma jalousie, j'ai parlé contre ce qui reste des nations, et contre toute l'Idumée, qui se sont adjugé en possession mon pays, dans la joie de tout leur coeur, et dans le mépris de leur âme, pour le mettre au pillage;

5. therefore thus says the Lord GOD:) Truly, with burning jealousy I speak against the rest of the nations (and against all of Edom) who with wholehearted joy and utter contempt have considered my land their possession to be delivered over to plunder.

6. à cause de cela, prophétise touchant la terre d'Israël, et dis aux montagnes et aux collines, aux ravins et aux vallons: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que j'ai parlé dans ma jalousie et dans ma fureur, parce que vous avez porté l'opprobre des nations.

6. (Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys: Thus says the Lord GOD:) With jealous fury I speak, because you have borne the reproach of the nations.

7. C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Moi, j'ai levé ma main! Les nations qui vous entourent porteront, elles aussi, leur opprobre.

7. Therefore do I solemnly swear that your neighboring nations shall bear their own reproach.

8. Et vous, montagnes d'Israël, vous pousserez vos rameaux, et vous porterez votre fruit, pour mon peuple d'Israël; car ils sont près de venir.

8. As for you, mountains of Israel, you shall grow branches and bear fruit for my people Israel, for they shall soon return.

9. Car voici que je viens à vous; et je tourne ma face vers vous; et vous serez cultivées et ensemencées.

9. See, I come to you, it is to you that I turn; you will be tilled and sown,

10. Je multiplierai sur vous les hommes, la maison d'Israël tout entière; les villes seront habitées, et les ruines seront rebâties.

10. and I will settle crowds of men upon you, the whole house of Israel; cities shall be repeopled, and ruins rebuilt.

11. Je multiplierai sur vous hommes et bestiaux; ils seront nombreux et se multiplieront; je vous rendrai habitées comme autrefois; je vous ferai plus de bien que dans votre commencement et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh.

11. I will settle crowds of men and beasts upon you, to multiply and be fruitful. I will repeople you as in the past, and be more generous to you than in the beginning; thus you shall know that I am the LORD.

12. J'amènerai sur vous des hommes, mon peuple d'Israël, et ils te posséderont; tu seras leur héritage, et tu ne les priveras plus de leurs enfants.

12. (My people Israel are the ones whom I will have walk upon you; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their heritage. Never again shall you rob them of their children.)

13. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Parce qu'ils vous disent: Tu as dévoré des hommes, et tu as privé ta nation de ses enfants,

13. Thus says the Lord GOD: Because they have said of you, "You are a land that devours men, and you rob your people of their children";

14. à cause de cela, tu ne dévoreras plus d'hommes, et tu ne priveras plus ta nation de ses enfants, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.

14. therefore, never again shall you devour men or rob your people of their children, says the Lord GOD.

15. Je ne te ferai plus entendre les outrages des nations, tu ne porteras plus l'opprobre des peuples, et tu ne feras plus broncher ta nation, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh."

15. No more will I permit you to hear the reproach of nations, or bear insults from peoples, or rob your people of their children, says the Lord GOD.

16. La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

16. Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

17. "Fils de l'homme, ceux de la maison d'Israël, quand ils habitaient sur leur terre, l'ont souillée par leur conduite et par leurs oeuvres leur conduite était devant moi comme la souillure. d'une femme.

17. Son of man, when the house of Israel lived in their land, they defiled it by their conduct and deeds. In my sight their conduct was like the defilement of a menstruous woman.

18. Et j'ai versé sur eux mon courroux, à cause du sang qu'ils ont versé sur le pays, et parce qu'ils l'ont souillé par leurs infâmes idoles.

18. Therefore I poured out my fury upon them (because of the blood which they poured out on the ground, and because they defiled it with idols).

19. Je les ai dispersés parmi les nations, et ils ont été disséminés dans les pays; je les ai jugés selon leur conduite et selon leurs oeuvres.

19. I scattered them among the nations, dispersing them over foreign lands; according to their conduct and deeds I judged them.

20. Arrivés chez les nations où ils sont allés, ils ont déshonoré mon saint nom, quand on disait d'eux: "C'est le peuple de Yahweh, c'est de son pays qu'ils sont sortis."

20. But when they came among the nations (wherever they came), they served to profane my holy name, because it was said of them: "These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave their land."

21. Et j'ai eu pitié de mon saint nom, que ceux de la maison d'Israël ont déshonoré parmi les nations chez lesquelles ils sont allés.

21. So I have relented because of my holy name which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they came.

22. C'est pourquoi dis à la maison d'Israël: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Ce n'est pas à cause de vous que je le fais, maison d'Israël, c'est pour mon saint nom que vous avez déshonoré, parmi les nations chez lesquelles vous êtes allés.

22. Therefore say to the house of Israel: Thus says the Lord GOD: Not for your sakes do I act, house of Israel, but for the sake of my holy name, which you profaned among the nations to which you came.

23. Je sanctifierai mon grand nom qui est déshonoré, parmi les nations au milieu desquelles vous l'avez déshonoré, et les nations sauront que je suis le Seigneur Yahweh, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh, quand je me sanctifierai en vous, à leurs yeux.

23. I will prove the holiness of my great name, profaned among the nations, in whose midst you have profaned it. Thus the nations shall know that I am the LORD, says the Lord GOD, when in their sight I prove my holiness through you.

24. Je vous tirerai d'entre les nations, je vous rassemblerai de tous les pays, et je vous ramènerai sur votre terre.

24. For I will take you away from among the nations, gather you from all the foreign lands, and bring you back to your own land.

25. Je ferai sur vous une aspersion d'eaux pures et vous serez purs; de toutes vos souillures et de toutes vos abominations je vous purifierai.

25. I will sprinkle clean water upon you to cleanse you from all your impurities, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.

26. Et je vous donnerai un coeur nouveau, et je mettrai au dedans de vous un esprit nouveau; j'ôterai de votre chair le coeur de pierre; et je vous donnerai un coeur de chair.

26. I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts.

27. Je mettrai au dedans de vous mon Esprit, et je ferai que vous suivrez mes ordonnances, que vous observerez mes lois et les pratiquerez.

27. I will put my spirit within you and make you live by my statutes, careful to observe my decrees.

28. Vous habiterez le pays que j'ai donné à vos pères, vous serez mon peuple, et moi, je serai votre Dieu.

28. You shall live in the land I gave your fathers; you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

29. Je vous sauverai de toutes vos souillures; j'appellerai le froment et le ferai abonder, et je n'enverrai plus sur vous la famine.

29. I will save you from all your impurities; I will order the grain to be abundant, and I will not send famine against you.

30. Je multiplierai les fruits des arbres, et le produit des champs, afin que vous ne portiez plus l'opprobre et la famine parmi les nations.

30. I will increase the fruit on your trees and the crops in your fields; thus you shall no longer bear among the nations the reproach of famine.

31. Vous vous rappellerez vos voies mauvaises et vos oeuvres qui n'étaient pas bonnes, et vous vous prendrez en dégoût, à cause de vos iniquités et de vos abominations.

31. Then you shall remember your evil conduct, and that your deeds were not good; you shall loathe yourselves for your sins and your abominations.

32. Ce n'est pas à cause de vous que je le fais, -- oracle du Seigneur Yahweh, -- sachez-le; ayez honte et rougissez de votre conduite, maison d'Israël.

32. Not for your sakes do I act, says the Lord GOD--let this be known to you! Be ashamed and abashed because of your conduct, O house of Israel.

33. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Le jour où je vous purifierai de toutes vos iniquités, je rendrai aux villes leurs habitants, et ce qui est en ruine sera rebâti.

33. Thus says the Lord GOD: When I purify you from all your crimes, I will repeople the cities, and the ruins shall be rebuilt;

34. La terre dévastée sera cultivée, elle qui n'était que désolation aux yeux de tous les passants.

34. the desolate land shall be tilled, which was formerly a wasteland exposed to the gaze of every passer-by.

35. On dira: Cette terre, qui était dévastée, est devenue comme un jardin d'Eden, et les villes ruinées, désolées et renversées, sont habitées comme des places fortes.

35. "This desolate land has been made into a garden of Eden," they shall say. "The cities that were in ruins, laid waste, and destroyed are now repeopled and fortified."

36. Et les nations qui seront restées autour de vous sauront que moi, Yahweh, j'ai rebâti ce qui était renversé, planté ce qui était ravagé. Moi, Yahweh, je dis et je fais!

36. Thus the neighboring nations that remain shall know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was destroyed and replanted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have promised, and I will do it.

37. Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Encore en ceci je me laisserai chercher par la maison d'Israël; pour le faire en leur faveur: je multiplierai les hommes comme des troupeaux.

37. Thus says the Lord GOD: This also I will be persuaded to do for the house of Israel: to multiply them like sheep.

38. Tels que les troupeaux de brebis saintes, tels que les troupeaux de Jérusalem dans ses solennités, ainsi des troupeaux d'hommes rempliront les villes dévastées; et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh."

38. As with sacrificial sheep, the sheep of Jerusalem on its feast days, the cities which were in ruins shall be filled with flocks of men; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.
