I Reyes, 6

1. En el año 480 de la salida de los israelitas de la tierra de Egipto, el año cuarto del reinado de Salomón sobre Israel, en el mes de Ziv, que es el segundo mes, emprendió la construcción de la Casa de Yahveh.

1. And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which [is] the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.

2. La Casa que edificó el rey Salomón a Yahveh tenía sesenta codos de largo, veinte de ancho y veinticinco de alto.

2. And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof [was] threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits.

3. El Ulam delante del Hekal de la Casa tenía veinte codos de largo en el sentido del ancho de la Casa y diez codos de ancho en el sentido de largo de la Casa.

3. And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits [was] the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits [was] the breadth thereof before the house.

4. Hizo en la Casa ventanas con celosías.

4. And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.

5. Edificó junto al muro de la Casa una galería en torno al Hekal y al Debir, e hizo habitaciones laterales en derredor.

5. And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, [against] the walls of the house round about, [both] of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:

6. La galería inferior tenía cinco codos de ancho, la intermedia seis codos de ancho y la tercera siete codos de ancho, porque fue rebajando alrededor de la Casa, por la parte exterior, para no empotrar en los muros de la Casa.

6. The nethermost chamber [was] five cubits broad, and the middle [was] six cubits broad, and the third [was] seven cubits broad: for without [in the wall] of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that [the beams] should not be fastened in the walls of the house.

7. (La Casa fue construida con piedras preparadas en la cantera; durante su construcción no se oyeron en la Casa martillazos ni sierras ni instrumentos de hierro.)

7. And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe [nor] any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

8. La entrada del piso inferior estaba en el ala derecha de la Casa, y por una escalera de caracol se subía al piso intermedio y del intermedio al tercero.

8. The door for the middle chamber [was] in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle [chamber], and out of the middle into the third.

9. Edificó la Casa, la acabó y la techó con artesonado de cedro.

9. So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

10. Edificó la galería, adosada a toda la Casa, de cinco codos de alta y estaba unida a la Casa por vigas de cedro.

10. And [then] he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house [with] timber of cedar.

11. Fue dirigida a Salomón la palabra de Yahveh diciendo:

11. And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,

12. «Por esta Casa que estás edificando, si caminas según mis preceptos, obras según mis sentencias y guardas todos mis mandamientos para andar conforme a ellos, yo cumpliré mi palabra contigo, la que dije a David tu padre,

12. [Concerning] this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

13. habitaré en medio de los hijos de Israel y no abandonaré a mi pueblo Israel.»

13. And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

14. Edificó Salomón la Casa y la terminó.

14. So Solomon built the house, and finished it.

15. Revistió los muros de la Casa en el interior con planchas de cedro desde el suelo de la Casa hasta las vigas del techo; revistió de madera el interior y recubrió el suelo de la Casa con planchas de ciprés.

15. And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: [and] he covered [them] on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.

16. Construyó los veinte codos del fondo de la Casa con planchas de cedro desde el suelo hasta las vigas, formando así por la parte interior el Debir, el Santo de los Santos;

16. And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built [them] for it within, [even] for the oracle, [even] for the most holy [place].

17. cuarenta codos tenía la Casa, es decir, el Hekal, delante del Debir.

17. And the house, that [is], the temple before it, was forty cubits [long].

18. El cedro del interior de la Casa estaba esculpido con figuras de calabazas y capullos abiertos; todo era cedro, no se veía la piedra.

18. And the cedar of the house within [was] carved with knops and open flowers: all [was] cedar; there was no stone seen.

19. Había preparado un Debir al fondo de la Casa en el interior para colocar en él el arca de la alianza de Yahveh.

19. And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

20. El Debir tenía veinte codos de largo, veinte codos de ancho y veinte codos de alto ; lo revistió de oro fino; y alzó un altar de cedro

20. And the oracle in the forepart [was] twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and [so] covered the altar [which was of] cedar.

21. delante del Debir y lo revistió de oro.

21. So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.

22. Revistió de oro también la Casa, absolutamente toda la Casa.

22. And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that [was] by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

23. Hizo en el Debir dos querubines de madera de acebuche de diez codos de altura.

23. And within the oracle he made two cherubims [of] olive tree, [each] ten cubits high.

24. Un ala del querubín tenía cinco codos y la otra ala del querubín cinco codos: diez codos desde la punta de una de sus alas hasta la punta de la otra de sus alas.

24. And five cubits [was] the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other [were] ten cubits.

25. El segundo querubín tenía diez codos, las mismas medidas y la misma forma para los dos querubines.

25. And the other cherub [was] ten cubits: both the cherubims [were] of one measure and one size.

26. La altura de un querubín era de diez codos y lo mismo el segundo querubín.

26. The height of the one cherub [was] ten cubits, and so [was it] of the other cherub.

27. Colocó los querubines en medio del recinto interior; y las alas de los querubines estaban desplegadas; el ala de uno tocaba un muro y el ala del segundo querubín tocaba el otro muro, y sus alas se tocaban en medio del recinto, ala con ala.

27. And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the [one] wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.

28. Revistió de oro los querubines.

28. And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.

29. Esculpió todo en torno los muros de la Casa con grabados de escultura de querubines, palmeras, capullos abiertos, al interior y al exterior.

29. And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

30. Recubrió de oro el piso de la Casa al interior y al exterior.

30. And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

31. Hizo la puerta del Debir con batientes de madera de acebuche, y el dintel y las jambas ocupaban la quinta parte;

31. And for the entering of the oracle he made doors [of] olive tree: the lintel [and] side posts [were] a fifth part [of the wall].

32. los dos batientes eran de madera de acebuche; esculpió sobre ellos esculturas de querubines, palmas y capullos abiertos, y los revistió de oro, poniendo láminas de oro sobre los querubines y las palmeras.

32. The two doors also [were of] olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid [them] with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.

33. Hizo lo mismo en la puerta del Hekal: los montantes de madera de acebuche que ocupaban la cuarta parte;

33. So also made he for the door of the temple posts [of] olive tree, a fourth part [of the wall].

34. dos batientes de madera de abeto: dos planchas de un batiente eran giratorias y también eran giratorias otras dos planchas del otro batiente.

34. And the two doors [were of] fir tree: the two leaves of the one door [were] folding, and the two leaves of the other door [were] folding.

35. Esculpió querubines, palmeras, capullos abiertos y embutió oro sobre la escultura.

35. And he carved [thereon] cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered [them] with gold fitted upon the carved work.

36. Edificó el patio interior; tres filas de piedras talladas y una fila de tablones de cedro.

36. And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.

37. El año cuarto, en el mes de Ziv, se pusieron los cimientos de la Casa de Yahveh,

37. In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:

38. y el año once, en el mes de Bul - que es el mes octavo - fue acabada la Casa en todas sus partes, según todo su proyecto. Salomón la levantó en siete años.

38. And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which [is] the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
