Chapter 1 of the Gospel of John presents Jesus as the Word of God Incarnate, who came to illuminate all and reveal the grace and truth of God to the world. Moreover, the chapter presents the testimony of John the Baptist about Jesus and the rejection of Jesus for his own. Below are five verses related to the topics addressed in John 1:
Isaiah 40:3: "A voice cries out, 'In the desert prepare the way to the Lord; make in the wilder one road to our God.'" This verse is quoted in John 1:23, when John Baptist presents himself as he who It fulfills Isaiah's prophecy, preparing the way for the Messiah.
John 3:19-20: "This is judgment: Light came into the world, but men loved darkness more than light, because their works were evil. Whoever practices evil hates light and does not approach the Light, fearing that your works be exposed. " This verse relates to the idea of John 1:14 that the word became flesh and dwelt among us, revealing the grace and the truth of God to the world.
