6. Behold I will stand there before thee, upon the rock Horeb: and thou shalt strike the rock, and water shall come out of it that the people may drink. Moses did so before the ancients of Israel:

Exodus 17 narrates the history of the battle between the Israelites and the Amalequites, in which Moses intercede to God while Joshua leads the battle. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

Exodus 15:3: "The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name." This verse describes God as a warrior, which is relevant to the battle described in Exodus 17.

Deuteronomy 25:17-19: This excerpt recounts the battle between the Israelites and the Amalequites, which occurred in Refidim. Verse 19 is especially relevant, for it declares that God commanded the Israelites to completely destroy the Amalequites.

Psalm 121:2: "My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth." This verse emphasizes confidence in God in times of difficulty, something the Israelites demonstrated during the battle in Exodus 17.

Philippians 4:13: "I can do everything in him who strengthens me." This verse emphasizes the idea that God gives people strength and ability to deal with challenges and difficulties, something that Israelites experienced during the battle in Exodus 17.
