Ruth, 4

5. And Boaz said to him, “When buying the field, you are likewise obliged to accept the hand of the woman Ruth, the Moabite, who was the wife of the deceased, so that you may raise up the name of your near kinsman through his posterity.”

Ruth 4 narrates the outcome of the story of Ruth and Boaz, in which Boaz becomes the rescuer of Elimelech, Naomi's husband, and marries Ruth. In addition, the chapter shows the importance of compliance with the laws of redemption and inheritance in the Hebrew culture of the time.

Leviticus 25:25: "If your relative impoverishes and sell some part of your property, your nearest rescuer will come and buy what the relative sold." This verse presents the law of property redemption, which is important in the outcome of Ruth's story, as Boaz becomes the elimelech resciator and acquires her property.
