Isaiah 34 describes God's judgment on nations, especially Edom, because of his rebellion against him. The chapter emphasizes the total destruction and the desolation that will come over these wicked nations as a result of divine justice. Amos 1:11: "Thus saith the Lord, by three transgressions of Edom, and for four I will not remove the punishment, because he persecuted with sword to his brother, and violated his bowels; your outrage forever. " Amos denounces Edom for his cruelty and violence against the people of Israel, and prophesies that God will judge them for their sins.
