Ezekiel, 8

11. And there were seventy men out of the elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah, the son of Shaphan, standing in their midst, and they stood before the pictures. And each one had a censer in his hand. And a cloud of smoke rose up from the incense.

Ezekiel 8 describes the prophet's view of idolatry practiced in the temple of Jerusalem, including images of worship of pagan gods, sacrifices to idols, and other abominable practices. The following verses are related to this theme:

Deuteronomy 12:4 - "Thou shalt not do the Lord thy God." This verse refers to the prohibition of worship to other gods and the requirement to serve only the Lord. Ezekiel witnessed the violation of this prohibition in the temple of Jerusalem.

Exodus 20:3 - "You will not have other gods before me." This is the first commandment of the law given to Moses. Ezekiel witnessed the violation of this commandment in the temple of Jerusalem, where images of pagan gods were being worshiped.
