2 Samuel, 7

26. so that your name may be magnified even forever, and so that it may be said: ‘The Lord of hosts is the God over Israel.’ And the house of your servant David will be established in the sight of the Lord.

2 Samuel 7 narrates an important dialogue between God and King David, in which God promises David a lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom. Moreover, the chapter also describes how David wants to build a temple for God, but it is informed that this task will be performed by his son. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in 2 Samuel 7:

2 Samuel 7:12: "When you complete your days and rest with your parents, I will establish a son of yours after you, and confirm your royalty." This verse is the beginning of the promise God makes David of lasting offspring and an eternal kingdom.

2 Samuel 7:16: "Thy house and your kingdom will be forever safe before me; Your throne will be established forever." God promises to David that his dynasty will be eternal.
