1 Samuel 22 narrates David's escape to Adulão, where he meets with others displeased and oppressed who join him. The chapter also highlights the betrayal of Doeg, Edomita, which informs Saul about the presence of David and his followers in Adulão, resulting in a massacre. These words of Jesus instruct his disciples to flee and take refuge elsewhere when they are persecuted, which is exactly what David and his followers did as they flee to Adullam.
Hebrews 13:5-6-"Be your life exempt from greed, contenting you with what you have; for he himself said, I will not let you, nor will I help you. And so with confidence we dared to say, The Lord is my helper , and I will not fear what the man can do to me. " These verses encourage believers not to give in to greed and to trust the Lord as his helper and protector, just as David did during his Saul escape.
