1 Chronicles, 26

17. Truly, toward the east there were six Levites, and toward the north there were four per day, and then toward the south similarly there were four each day. And where the council was, there were two and two.

Chapter 26 of 1 chronicles talks about the positions and functions of the porters in the temple of God, as well as the organization of the groups of porters. The verses below are related to the topics addressed in this chapter:

Psalm 84:10: "Because it is more worthwhile in your atria than a thousand. I would rather be at the door of my God's house to dwell in the tents of the wicked." 2 Chronicles 8:14: "According to the regulation of David, his father, established the divisions of the priests for his service, and the Levites for their functions of praise and ministry before the priests, as it required, and the Porters for their divisions in each door, for so David, man of God, had ordered. " This verse highlights the importance of organizing the groups of porters, according to their divisions in each door, established by David.

Psalm 118:19-20: "Open to me the doors of righteousness; I will enter them and praise the Lord. This is the door of the Lord, by which the righteous can enter." Psalm 24:7-10: "Rose, O portals, their heads are raised; Powerful Lord in battle. Once your heads are raised; Once, O eternal doors, that the king of glory may come in! Who is this king of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the king of glory!" This psalm celebrates the triumphal entry of the king of glory, the Lord of hosts, through the gates of the temple of God.
