2 Maccabees, 3

25. For there appeared to them a magnificently caparisoned horse, with a rider of frightening mien, and it rushed furiously at Heliodorus and struck at him with its front hoofs. Its rider was seen to have armor and weapons of gold.

Chapter 3 of 2 Maccabees narrates the story of a rich man named Simon, who had loaned a large amount of money to the Public Treasurer Heliodoro, to give it to the king. " This verse talks about the importance of bringing tithes and offerings to the Treasury House, so that there is maintenance in the house of God. Heliodoro's attempt at theft was a threat to maintaining the temple.
