1 Maccabees, 9

27. Thus there was great distress in Israel, such as had not been since the time that prophets ceased to appear among them.

1 Maccabees 9 describes the war between the armies of Judas Macabeu and Baquids, General of the Seleucid King. " This verse deals with the theme of Divine Protection, which is an important element in 1 Maccabees 9. Both sides trust God to protect them in battle.
