St. Luke 21 deals with Jesus' teachings about the signs that precede his second coming and the need to be prepared for this moment. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in the chapter:
2 Peter 3:10: "There shall come, as a thief the day of the Lord, in which heaven will pass with a great crash, and the elements, burning, shall dissolve, and the earth, and the works that exist in it, will be discovered. " This verse talks about the second coming of Christ and the consequences it will have to earth.
Matthew 24:42: "Watch, for you do not know what day your Lord comes in." As in St. Luke 21, Jesus emphasizes the importance of vigilance and readiness for his second coming.
1 Thessalonians 5:2: "For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come as the thief at night." In this verse, Paul makes a comparison similar to that used by Jesus in St. Luke 21: The second coming of Christ will be sudden and unexpected as a thief.

Matthew 24:30: "Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth shall regret, and see the Son of man come upon the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory." This verse relates to Jesus' description in St. Luke 21:25-28 on the heavenly signs that will precede his second coming.
