Luc, 17

1. Il dit à ses disciples : " On ne peut supposer qu'il n'arrivera pas de scandale; mais malheur à celui par qui ils arrivent !

1. He said to his disciples, "Things that cause sin will inevitably occur, but woe to the person through whom they occur.

2. Il serait plus utile pour lui qu'on lui suspende autour du cou une pierre de meule et qu'on le lance dans la mer, plutôt qu'il ne scandalise un de ces petits.

2. It would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

3. Prenez garde pour vous-mêmes. Si ton frère vient à pécher, réprimande-le, et s'il se repent, pardonne-lui.

3. Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

4. Et quand il pécherait contre toi sept fois le jour, et que sept fois il revienne à toi, disant : " Je me repens, " tu lui pardonneras. "

4. And if he wrongs you seven times in one day and returns to you seven times saying, 'I am sorry,' you should forgive him."

5. Et les apôtres dirent au Seigneur : " Augmentez notre foi ! "

5. And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."

6. Le Seigneur (leur dit) : " Si vous aviez de la foi comme un grain de sénevé, vous diriez à ce mûrier : " Déracine-toi, et replante-toi dans la mer, " et il vous obéirait.

6. The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to (this) mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.

7. Qui d'entre vous, ayant un serviteur employé comme laboureur ou pâtre, lui dira à son retour des champs : " Vite, viens te mettre à table "?

7. "Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'?

8. Au contraire, ne lui dira-t-il pas : " Prépare-moi à dîner; puis, tu te ceindras et te me serviras jusqu'à ce que j'aie mangé et bu; et après cela, toit, tu mangeras et boiras "?

8. Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished'?

9. Est-ce qu'il a de la reconnaissance à ce serviteur, parce qu'il a fait ce qui a été ordonné?

9. Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?

10. De même vous, quand vous aurez fait ce qui vous a été ordonné, dites : " Nous sommes des serviteurs inutiles; nous avons fait ce que nous devions faire. "

10. So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"

11. Et, comme il se rendait à Jérusalem, il passa par les confins de la Samarie et de la Galilée.

11. As he continued his journey to Jerusalem, he traveled through Samaria and Galilee.

12. Et alors qu'il entrait dans un village, vinrent à sa rencontre dix lépreux, qui se tinrent à distance;

12. As he was entering a village, ten lepers met (him). They stood at a distance from him

13. et, élevant la voix, ils dirent : " Maître Jésus, ayez pitié de nous ! "

13. and raised their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!"

14. Les ayant vus, il leur dit : " Allez vous montrer aux prêtres. " Et, comme ils y allaient, ils furent guéris.

14. And when he saw them, he said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." As they were going they were cleansed.

15. L'un d'entre eux, voyant qu'il était guéri, revint en glorifiant Dieu à haute voix,

15. And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice;

16. tomba à ses pieds la face contre terre et lui rendit grâces. Et c'était un Samaritain.

16. and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan.

17. Prenant la parole, Jésus dit : " Est-ce que les dix n'ont pas été guéris? Et les neuf, où (sont-ils)?

17. Jesus said in reply, "Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine?

18. Ne s'est-il trouvé parmi eux que cet étranger pour revenir rendre gloire à Dieu? "

18. Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?"

19. Et il lui dit : " Lève-toi, va; ta foi t'a sauvé. "

19. Then he said to him, "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you."

20. Interrogé par les Pharisiens : " Quand vient le royaume de Dieu? " il leur répondit, disant : " Le royaume de Dieu ne vient pas avec (des signes) à observer;

20. Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he said in reply, "The coming of the kingdom of God cannot be observed,

21. et on ne dira pas : " Il est ici ! " ou : " Il est là ! " car voici que le royaume de Dieu est au dedans de vous. "

21. and no one will announce, 'Look, here it is,' or, 'There it is.' For behold, the kingdom of God is among you."

22. Il dit à ses disciples : " Viendra un temps où vous désirerez voir un seul des jours du Fils de l'homme, et vous ne le verrez point.

22. Then he said to his disciples, "The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.

23. On vous dira : " Il est là ! Il est ici ! " N'y allez pas, ne courez pas après.

23. There will be those who will say to you, 'Look, there he is,' (or) 'Look, here he is.' Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.

24. Car, comme l'éclair qui jaillit d'un point du ciel brille jusqu'à un autre point du ciel, ainsi en sera-t-il du Fils de l'homme, en son jour.

24. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be (in his day).

25. Mais il faut d'abord qu'il souffre beaucoup et qu'il soit rejeté par cette génération.

25. But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation.

26. Et comme il arriva aux jours de Noé, ainsi arrivera-t-il aux jours du Fils de l'homme.

26. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man;

27. On mangeait, on buvait, on épousait, on était épousé, jusqu'au jour où Noé entra dans l'arche, et le déluge vint qui les fit périr tous.

27. they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

28. Pareillement, comme il arriva aux jours de Lot : on mangeait, on buvait, on achetait, on vendait, on plantait, on bâtissait;

28. Similarly, as it was in the days of Lot: they were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building;

29. mais le jour où Lot sortit de Sodome, (Dieu) fit pleuvoir du ciel feu et soufre, et les fit périr tous.

29. on the day when Lot left Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from the sky to destroy them all.

30. De même en sera-t-il au jour où le Fils de l'homme se révélera.

30. So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

31. Et en ce jour-là, que celui qui sera sur la terrasse, et dont les affaires seront dans la maison, ne descende pas pour les prendre; et pareillement, que celui qui sera aux champs ne retourne pas en arrière.

31. On that day, a person who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind.

32. Souvenez-vous de la femme de Lot.

32. Remember the wife of Lot.

33. Celui qui cherchera à conserver sa vie la perdra, et celui qui la perdra la gardera vivante.

33. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it.

34. Je vous le dis : cette nuit-là, de deux (hommes) qui seront à la même table, l'un sera enlevé et l'autre laissé;

34. I tell you, on that night there will be two people in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.

35. de deux femmes qui moudront ensemble, l'une sera enlevée et l'autre laissée. "

35. And there will be two women grinding meal together; one will be taken, the other left."

37. Et prenant la parole, ils lui dirent : " Où Seigneur? " Il leur dit : " Où sera le corps, là aussi se rassembleront les aigles. "

37. They said to him in reply, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will gather."
