8. And, behold, [thou hast] with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, which cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but he came down to meet me at Jordan, and I sware to him by the LORD, saying, I will not put thee to death with the sword.

Chapter 2 of 1 kings deals with the death of King David and the succession of the throne by Solomon, his son. This relates to Chapter 2 of 1 Kings, where David instructs Solomon to be wise in his decisions and to rule with justice.

Matthew 6:33: "But seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." This verse talks about the importance of placing God first and seeking His righteousness rather than seeking our own desires. This relates to Chapter 2 of 1 kings, where Solomon is instructed to obey God's commandments and to rule with righteousness.
