1 John, 2

16. For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Ephesians 2:10: "For we are his own making, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God in advance prepared for us to walk in them." Just as 1 St. John 2 highlights the importance of following the example of Jesus, this verse of Ephesians teaches that we were created in Christ to perform good works that were prepared by God for us.
