Chapter 26 of the Book of Numbers presents a census of the children of Israel after the death of the generation that had been told in the first census. The verses below relate to topics covered in this chapter:
Genesis 46:8: "And these are the names of the children of Israel, who entered Egypt, Jacob and his children: Rúben, the firstborn of Jacob." This verse mentions the eldest son of Jacob, Rúben, who is also listed as Israel's firstborn in the census of numbers 26.
Exodus 6:15: "And these are the children of Levi, according to his generations: Gérson, Coate and Merari; and the years of Levi's life were one hundred and thirty -seven years."
