19. Did Ezechias king of Juda, and all Juda, condemn him to death? did they not fear the Lord, and beseech the face of the Lord: and the Lord repented of the evil that they had spoken against them? therefore we are doing a great evil against our souls.
Jeremiah chapter deals with the prophet's prophecy about the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem, and how religious and politicians reacted to this message. 2 Kings 19:2 - "And sent Eliakim, who was over the house, and Sebna, the registrar, and the elders of the priests, dressed in bags, Isaiah the son of Amoz the prophet." " This verse shows how the religious leaders of the New Testament also pursue those who preached the message of God, as well as the leaders of Jerusalem in the time of Jeremiah.
