7. And they hired two and thirty thousand chariots, and the king of Maacha, with his people. And they came and camped over against Medaba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together out of their cities, and came to battle.

1 Chronicles 19 tells the history of war between David and the Ammonites. The chapter begins with David showing goodness to Hanum, son of the ammonite king, but Hanum insults him and humiliates him, which leads to war between the two peoples. This verse shows that David trusted God and his spiritual weapons to fight the ammonites, not in his own skills or physical strength.
