2 Samuel, 3

25. Do you not know, about Abner, the son of Ner, that he came to you for this, so that he might deceive you, and might know of your departure and your return, and so that he might know all that you do?”

2 Samuel 3:27 - "When Abner returned to Hebron, Joabe took him to the middle of the door, as if he wanted to talk to him in particular, and there injured him in his belly. And Abner died from the blood of Asael, brother of Joab. " This verse describes Abner's death in the hands of Joab, an important event in the struggle for power.
