Neemias, 3
1. O sumo sacerdote Eliasib e seus irmãos, no sacerdócio, puseram-se a trabalhar para reconstruir a porta das Ovelhas; consagraram-na e assentaram-lhe os batentes. Construíram a muralha até a torre de Mea, a qual consagraram e prosseguiram até a torre de Hananeel.*
1. Then Eliasib the high priest arose, and his brethren the priests, and they built the flock gate: they sanctified it, and set up the doors thereof, even unto the tower of a hundred cubits they sanctified it unto the tower of Hananeel.
2. Ao lado deles trabalhavam os homens de Jericó, bem como, Zacur, filho de Imri.
2. And next to him the men of Jericho built: and next to them built Zachur the son of Amri.
3. Os filhos de Asená construíram a porta dos Peixes; colocaram-lhe as vigas e assentaram-lhe os batentes, com suas fechaduras e as trancas.
3. But the fish gate the sons of Asnaa built: they covered it, and set up the doors thereof, and tire locks, and the bars. And next to them built Marimuth the son of Urias the son of Accus.
4. Ao lado deles trabalhavam nas reparações Meremot, filho de Urias, filho de Acos, depois Mesolam, filho de Baraquias, filho de Mesezebel. Ao seu lado trabalhava Sadoc, filho de Baana.
4. And next to him built Mosollam tile son of Barachias, the sell of Merezebel, and next to them built Sadoc the son of Baana.
5. Ao lado desses trabalhavam os tecuítas, mas seus chefes não prestaram apoio ao trabalho dos seus senhores.
5. And next to them the Thecuites built: but their great men did not put their necks to the work of their Lord.
6. Joiada, filho de Fasea, e Mesolam, filho de Besodias, repararam a porta antiga; puseram-lhe as vigas e colocaram os batentes, as fechaduras e as trancas.
6. And Joiada the son of Phasea, and Mosollam the son of Besodia built the old gate: they covered it and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bars.
7. Ao lado trabalhavam Meltias, o gabaonita, Jadon, o meronatita, bem como os homens de Gabaon e de Masfa, que eram súditos do governador da outra banda do rio.
7. And next to them built Meltias the Gabaonite, and Jadon the Meronathite, the men of Gabaon and Maspha, for the governor that was in the country beyond the river.
8. Ao lado trabalhava Oziel, filho de Araías, membro da associação dos ourives; depois Hananias, da turma dos perfumistas. Reconstruíram Jerusalém até o muro largo.
8. And next to him built Eziel the son of Araia the goldsmith: and next to him built Ananias the son of the perfumer: and they left Jerusalem unto the wall of the broad street.
9. Ao lado deles trabalhava Rafaías, filho de Hur, chefe de uma metade do distrito de Jerusalém.
9. And next to him built Raphaia the son of Hur, lord of the street of Jerusalem.
10. Depois, defronte de sua casa, Jedaías, filho de Haromaf; em seguida, Hatus, filho de Hasebonias.
10. And next to him Jedaia the son of Haromaph over against his own house: and next to him built Hattus the son of Hasebonia.
11. Melquias, filho de Herem, e Hasub, filho de Faat-Moab, repararam outra parte da muralha e a torre dos Fornos.
11. 11Melchias the son of Herem, and Ha- sub the son of Phahath Moab, built half the street, and the tower of the furnaces.
12. Ao lado deles trabalhava, com suas filhas, Selum, filho de Aloés, chefe da outra metade do distrito de Jerusalém.
12. And next to him built Sellum the son of Alohes, lord of half the street of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
13. Hanun e os habitantes de Zanoe repararam a porta do Vale; eles mesmos a reconstruíram e trocaram os batentes, as fechaduras e as trancas e fizeram além disso mil côvados de muro até a porta da Esterqueira.
13. And the gate of the valley Hanun built, and the inhabitants of Zanoe: they built it, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bars, and a thousand cubits in the wall unto the gate of the dunghill.
14. Melquias, filho de Recab, chefe do distrito de Bet-Acarem, reformou a porta da Esterqueira; reconstruiu-a, colocando-lhe também os batentes, as fechaduras e as trancas.
14. And the gate of the dunghill Melchias the son of Rechab built, lord of the street of Bethacharam : he built it, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bars.
15. Selum, filho de Col-Hoza, chefe do distrito de Masfa, reparou a porta da Fonte; reconstruiu-a, cobriu-a e colocou-lhe os batentes, as fechaduras e as trancas. Fez, além disso, os muros, desde a piscina de Siloé, ao lado do jardim do rei, até a escada que desce da Cidade de Davi.
15. And the gate of the fountain Sellum the son of Cholhoza built, lord of the street of Maspha: he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks, and the bare, and the walls of the pool of Siloe unto the king's guard, and unto the steps that go down from the city of David.
16. Depois dele, Neemias, filho de Azboc, chefe da metade do distrito de Betsur, trabalhou até defronte do túmulo de Davi, até o reservatório artificial e até a casa dos Heróis.
16. After him built Nehemias the son of Azboc, lord of half the street of Bethsur, as far as over against the sepulchre of David, and to the pool, that was built with great labour, and to the house of the mighty.
17. Depois dele, trabalharam os levitas com Reum, filho de Bani; ao lado trabalhava, para o seu distrito, Hasabias, chefe da metade do distrito de Ceila.
17. After him built the Levites, Rehum the son of Benni. After him built Hasebias, lord of half the street of Ceila in his own street.
18. Mais ao longe trabalhavam seus irmãos, sob a direção de Benui, filho de Henadad, chefe da outra metade de Ceila.
18. After him built their brethren Bavai the son of Enadad, lord of half Ceila.
19. Azer, filho de Jesua, chefe de Masfa, restaurou outro setor da muralha, defronte da subida do arsenal até a esquina.

20. Depois dele, Baruc, filho de Zabai, trabalhava com ardor em outra seção, desde a esquina até a entrada da casa do sumo sacerdote Eliasib.

21. Depois dele, Meremot, filho de Urias, filho de Acos, trabalhava em outra seção, desde a porta da casa de Eliasib até a extremidade dessa casa.
21. After him Merimuth the son of Urias the son of Haccus, built another measure, from the door of the house of Eliasib, to the end of the house of Eliasib.
22. Mais adiante, trabalhavam os sacerdotes, os homens da planície do Jordão.
22. And after him built the priests, the men of the plains of the Jordan.
23. Depois deles, Benjamim e Hasub trabalhavam defronte das suas casas. Depois deles, Azarias, filho de Maasias, filho de Hananias, ao lado de sua casa;
23. After him built Benjamin and Hasub, over against their own house : and after him built Azarias the son of Maasias the son of Ananias over against his house.
24. depois dele, Benui, filho de Henadad, trabalhava em outra seção, desde a casa de Azarias até a esquina e o contorno.
24. After him built Bennui the son of Hanadad another measure, from the house of Azarias unto the bending, and unto the corner.
25. Falel, filho de Ozi, trabalhava defronte da esquina e da alta torre que aparece sobre o palácio real, perto do átrio da prisão.
25. Phalel, the son of Ozi, over against the bending and the tower, which lieth out from the king's high house, that is, in the court of the prison: after him Phadaia the son of Pharos.
26. Depois dele trabalhava Fadaías, filho de Faros. Os natineus habitavam Ofel, até defronte da porta da Água, ao oriente e da torre que se salientava.
26. And the Nathinites dwelt in Ophel, as far as over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that stood out.
27. Depois dele, os tecuítas trabalhavam na parte seguinte, defronte da torre que se salientava, até o muro do Ofel.
27. After him the Thecuites built another measure over against, from the great tower that standeth out unto the wall of the temple.
28. Acima da porta dos Cavalos, trabalhavam os sacerdotes, cada um diante de sua casa.
28. And upward from the horse gate the priests built, every man over against his house.
29. Depois deles, Sadoc, filho de Hemer, diante de sua casa; depois Semeías, filho de Sequenias, guardião da porta oriental do templo.
29. After them built Sadoc the son of Emmer over against his house. And after him built Semaia the son of Sechenias, keeper of the east gate.
30. Depois dele Hananias, filho de Selemias e Hanun, o sexto filho de Selef, repararam uma outra seção. Depois dele Mesolam, filho de Baraquias, trabalhava diante de sua residência.
30. After him built Hanania the son of Selemia, and Hanun the sixth son of Seleph, another measure: after him built Mosollam the son of Barachias over against his treasury. After him Melcias the goldsmith's son built unto the house of the Nathinites, and of the sellers of small wares, over against the judgment gate, and unto the chamber of the corner.
31. Depois dele, trabalhava Melquias, que pertencia à turma dos ourives, fez reforma até a casa dos natineus e dos negociantes, diante da porta de Mifcad até a sala superior do ângulo.
31. And within the chamber of the corner of the dock gate, the goldsmiths and the merchants built.
32. Enfim, entre o quarto da esquina do contorno e a porta das Ovelhas, trabalhavam os ourives e os negociantes.

33. Grande foi a raiva de Sanabalat quando soube que estávamos reconstruindo as muralhas. Em sua cólera, escarneceu dos judeus

34. e disse diante de seus irmãos e do exército de Samaria: “Que querem fazer esses miseráveis judeus? Porventura, permitiremos que o façam? Querem eles oferecer sacrifícios? Chegarão ao cabo de sua empresa? Tirarão por acaso pedras destes montes de areia calcinada?”.

35. E Tobias, que estava a seu lado, também disse: “Deixem-nos reconstruir! Virá uma raposa e fará cair a sua muralha de pedra”.

36. Ouvi, ó nosso Deus, como nos desprezam! Fazei recair sobre suas cabeças todos os seus insultos. Fazei deles a presa de outros em uma terra de exílio.
36.
37. Não perdoeis sua iniquidade e que seu pecado jamais seja esquecido diante de vossa face, tão grande é o escândalo que fizeram diante dos construtores!
37.
38. Assim reconstruímos a muralha. Ela foi inteiramente reparada até a metade de sua altura. Isso porque o povo pôs o coração em trabalho.
