Marc, 14

1. Or c'était la Pâque et les Azymes deux jours après; et les grands prêtres et les scribes cherchaient comment ils pourraient s'emparer de lui par ruse et le faire mourir.

1. The Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread were to take place in two days' time. So the chief priests and the scribes were seeking a way to arrest him by treachery and put him to death.

2. Ils disaient en effet : " Pas dans la fête, de peur qu'il n'y ait du tumulte parmi le peuple. "

2. They said, "Not during the festival, for fear that there may be a riot among the people."

3. Comme Jésus était à Béthanie, dans la maison de Simon le lépreux, pendant qu'il était à table, vint une femme avec un vase d'albâtre (plein) d'un parfum de nard vrai d'un grand prix. Ayant brisé le vase d'albâtre, elle lui répandit (le parfum) sur la tête.

3. When he was in Bethany reclining at table in the house of Simon the leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of perfumed oil, costly genuine spikenard. She broke the alabaster jar and poured it on his head.

4. Or il y en avait quelques-uns qui, tout indignés, (disaient) entre eux : " A quoi bon cette perte de parfum?

4. There were some who were indignant. "Why has there been this waste of perfumed oil?

5. On pouvait en effet vendre ce parfum plus de trois cents deniers, et en donner (le prix) aux pauvres. " Et ils grondaient contre elle.

5. It could have been sold for more than three hundred days' wages and the money given to the poor." They were infuriated with her.

6. Mais Jésus dit : " Laissez-la; pourquoi lui faites-vous de la peine? C'est une bonne action qu'elle a faite sur moi.

6. Jesus said, "Let her alone. Why do you make trouble for her? She has done a good thing for me.

7. Car toujours vous avez les pauvres avec vous, et toutes les fois que vous voulez, vous pouvez leur faire du bien; mais moi, vous ne m'avez pas toujours.

7. The poor you will always have with you, and whenever you wish you can do good to them, but you will not always have me.

8. Ce qu'elle a pu, elle l'a fait : elle a par avance parfumé mon corps pour la sépulture.

8. She has done what she could. She has anticipated anointing my body for burial.

9. Je vous le dis, en vérité, partout où sera prêché cet évangile, dans le monde entier, ce qu'elle a fait sera aussi raconté, en souvenir d'elle. "

9. Amen, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed to the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her."

10. Et Judas Iscarioth, l'un des Douze, s'en alla vers les grands prêtres pour le leur livrer.

11. Après l'avoir entendu, ils furent dans la joie et promirent de lui donner de l'argent. Et il cherchait une occasion favorable pour le livrer.

12. Le premier jour des Azymes, où l'on sacrifiait la pâque, ses disciples lui dirent : " Où voulez-vous que nous allions faire les préparatifs pour que vous mangiez la pâque? "

12. On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, "Where do you want us to go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?"

13. Et il envoya deux de ses disciples et leur dit : " Allez à la ville; vous rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d'eau : suivez-le,

14. et quelque part qu'il entre, dites au maître de maison : Le Maître te fait dire : Où est ma salle, où je pourrai manger la pâque avec mes disciples?

14. Wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"'

15. Et il vous montrera une chambre du haut, vaste, meublée et toute prête : faites-nous là les préparatifs. "

16. Les disciples partirent et allèrent à la ville; et ils trouvèrent (les choses) comme il le leur avait dit, et ils firent les préparatifs de la pâque.

16. The disciples then went off, entered the city, and found it just as he had told them; and they prepared the Passover.

17. Le soir venu, il vint avec les Douze.

17. When it was evening, he came with the Twelve.

18. Pendant qu'ils étaient à table et mangeaient, Jésus dit : " Je vous le dis en vérité, un de vous me trahira, qui mange avec moi. "

18. And as they reclined at table and were eating, Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me."

19. Et ils se mirent à s'attrister, et un chacun de lui dire : " Serait-ce moi? "

19. They began to be distressed and to say to him, one by one, "Surely it is not I?"

20. Il leur dit : " Un des Douze, qui met avec moi la main au plat.

20. He said to them, "One of the Twelve, the one who dips with me into the dish.

21. Le Fils de l'homme s'en va, selon ce qui est écrit de lui; mais malheur à l'homme par qui le Fils de l'homme est trahi ! Mieux vaudrait pour cet homme-là qu'il ne fût pas né. "

21. For the Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born."

22. Pendant le repas, il prit du pain, et après avoir dit la bénédiction, il le rompit, et le leur donna, en disant : " Prenez, ceci est mon corps. "

22. While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, "Take it; this is my body."

23. Il prit ensuite une coupe et, après avoir rendu grâces, il la leur donna, et ils en burent tous.

23. Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

24. Et il leur dit : " Ceci est mon sang, (le sang) de l'alliance, répandu pour beaucoup.

24. He said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed for many.

25. Je vous le dis, en vérité, je ne boirai plus du produit de la vigne jusqu'à ce jour où je le boirai nouveau dans le royaume de Dieu. "

25. Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."

26. Après le chant de l'hymne, ils s'en allèrent au mont des Oliviers.

26. Then, after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

27. Et Jésus leur dit : " Je vous serai à tous une occasion de chute, parce qu'il est écrit : Je frapperai le pasteur, et les brebis seront dispersées.

27. Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will have your faith shaken, for it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be dispersed.'

28. Mais, après que je serai ressuscité, je vous précéderai en Galilée. "

28. But after I have been raised up, I shall go before you to Galilee."

29. Pierre lui dit : " Quand même vous seriez pour tous une occasion de chute, vous ne le serez jamais pour moi. "

29. Peter said to him, "Even though all should have their faith shaken, mine will not be."

30. Jésus lui dit : " Je te le dis, en vérité, toi aujourd'hui, cette nuit-ci, avant que le coq ait chanté deux fois, trois fois tu me renieras. "

30. Then Jesus said to him, "Amen, I say to you, this very night before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times."

31. Mais lui n'en disait que plus : " Quand il me faudrait mourir avec vous, je ne vous renierai pas. " Et tous aussi en disaient autant.

31. But he vehemently replied, "Even though I should have to die with you, I will not deny you." And they all spoke similarly.

32. Ils arrivent en un domaine appelé Gethsémani, et il dit à ses disciples : " Demeurez ici tandis que je prierai. "

32. Then they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."

33. Et il prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, et il commença à sentir de la frayeur et de l'angoisse.

33. He took with him Peter, James, and John, and began to be troubled and distressed.

34. Et il leur dit : " Mon âme est triste jusqu'à la mort; restez ici et veillez. "

34. Then he said to them, "My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch."

35. S'étant un peu avancé, il tomba sur la terre; et il priait que cette heure, s'il était possible, s'éloignât de lui,

35. He advanced a little and fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour might pass by him;

36. et il disait : " Abba, Père, tout vous est possible, détournez de moi ce calice; cependant, non ce que je veux, mais ce que vous (voulez) ! "

36. he said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Take this cup away from me, but not what I will but what you will."

37. Et il vient et il les trouve endormis, et il dit à Pierre : " Simon, tu dors ! Tu n'as pas eu la force de veiller une heure !

37. When he returned he found them asleep. He said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?

38. Veillez et priez afin que vous n'entriez point en tentation. L'esprit est ardent, mais la chair es faible. "

38. Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak."

39. Il s'en alla de nouveau et pria, disant la même parole.

39. Withdrawing again, he prayed, saying the same thing.

40. Puis, étant revenu, il les trouva endormis, car leurs yeux étaient appesantis, et ils ne savaient que lui répondre.

40. Then he returned once more and found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open and did not know what to answer him.

41. Il revint une troisième fois et leur dit : " Dormez désormais et reposez-vous. C'est assez ! L'heure est venue; voici que le Fils de l'homme est livré aux mains des pécheurs.

41. He returned a third time and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough. The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners.

42. Levez-vous, allons ! Voici que celui qui me trahit est proche. "

42. Get up, let us go. See, my betrayer is at hand."

43. Aussitôt, comme il parlait encore, survient Judas, l'un des Douze, et avec lui une foule, armée de glaives et de bâtons, envoyée par les grands prêtres et les anciens.

43. Then, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a crowd with swords and clubs who had come from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.

44. Celui qui le trahissait leur avait donné un signe de convention : " Celui à qui je donnerai un baiser, c'est lui : arrêtez-le et emmenez-le en prenant vos sûretés. "

44. His betrayer had arranged a signal with them, saying, "The man I shall kiss is the one; arrest him and lead him away securely."

45. Quand il fut arrivé, s'avançant aussitôt vers lui, il dit : " Rabbi ! " et il lui donna un baiser.

45. He came and immediately went over to him and said, "Rabbi." And he kissed him.

46. Eux mirent la main sur lui et l'arrêtèrent.

46. At this they laid hands on him and arrested him.

47. Un de ceux qui étaient là, tirant le glaive, frappa le serviteur du grand prêtre, et lui emporta l'oreille.

47. One of the bystanders drew his sword, struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his ear.

48. Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit : " Comme contre un brigand, vous êtes sortis avec des glaives et des bâtons pour me prendre !

48. Jesus said to them in reply, "Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs, to seize me?

49. Chaque jour j'étais près de vous dans le temple, où j'enseignais, et vous ne m'avez pas arrêté; mais c'est afin que les Ecritures s'accomplissent. "

49. Day after day I was with you teaching in the temple area, yet you did not arrest me; but that the scriptures may be fulfilled."

50. Et tous l'abandonnèrent et prirent la fuite.

50. And they all left him and fled.

51. Or un jeune homme le suivait, enveloppé d'un drap sur (son corps) nu, et on l'arrêta;

51. Now a young man followed him wearing nothing but a linen cloth about his body. They seized him,

52. mais il lâcha le drap et s'enfuit nu de leurs mains.

52. but he left the cloth behind and ran off naked.

53. Ils emmenèrent Jésus chez le grand prêtre, et tous les grands prêtres, les anciens et les scribes se réunirent.

53. They led Jesus away to the high priest, and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together.

54. Pierre l'avait suivi de loin, jusque dans l'intérieur du palais du grand prêtre, et il était assis avec les satellites et se chauffait près du feu.

54. Peter followed him at a distance into the high priest's courtyard and was seated with the guards, warming himself at the fire.

55. Les grands prêtres et tous le Sanhédrin cherchaient un témoignage contre Jésus pour le faire mourir, et ils n'en trouvaient point.

55. The chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin kept trying to obtain testimony against Jesus in order to put him to death, but they found none.

56. Car beaucoup portaient de faux témoignages contre lui, mais les témoignages ne s'accordaient pas.

56. Many gave false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.

57. Et quelques-uns, se levant, portèrent contre lui ce faux témoignage :

57. Some took the stand and testified falsely against him, alleging,

58. " Nous l'avons entendu dire : Je détruirai ce sanctuaire fait de main d'homme, et en trois jours j'en rebâtirai un autre, non fait de main d'homme. "

58. "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands and within three days I will build another not made with hands.'"

59. Mais même sur cela leur témoignage ne s'accordait pas.

59. Even so their testimony did not agree.

60. Le grand prêtre se leva, et (venant) au milieu, il interrogea Jésus, disant : " Tu ne réponds rien? Qu'est-ce que ces hommes déposent contre toi? "

60. The high priest rose before the assembly and questioned Jesus, saying, "Have you no answer? What are these men testifying against you?"

61. Mais il garda le silence et ne répondit rien. Le grand prêtre l'interrogea de nouveau et lui dit : " Es-tu le Christ, le Fils du Béni? "

61. But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Messiah, the son of the Blessed One?"

62. Jésus dit : " Je le suis, et vous verrez le Fils de l'homme assis à la droite de la Puissance, et venant avec les nuées du ciel. "

62. Then Jesus answered, "I am; and 'you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.'"

63. Et le grand prêtre déchira ses vêtements et dit : " Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins?

63. At that the high priest tore his garments and said, "What further need have we of witnesses?

64. Vous venez d'entendre le blasphème : que vous paraît-il? " Tous le condamnèrent (comme) méritant la mort.

64. You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him as deserving to die.

65. Et quelques-uns se mirent à cracher sur lui, et, lui voilant le visage, ils le frappaient du poing, en lui disant : " Prophétise ! "; et les satellites lui administraient des soufflets.

65. Some began to spit on him. They blindfolded him and struck him and said to him, "Prophesy!" And the guards greeted him with blows.

66. Pendant que Pierre était en bas, dans la cour, vint une des servantes du grand prêtre;

66. While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the high priest's maids came along.

67. et voyant Pierre qui se chauffait, elle le fixa du regard et lui dit : " Toi aussi, tu étais avec le Nazaréen Jésus ! "

67. Seeing Peter warming himself, she looked intently at him and said, "You too were with the Nazarene, Jesus."

68. Mais il nia, en disant : " Je ne sais, ni ne comprends ce que tu veux dire. " Et il s'en alla dehors, vers le porche, et un coq chanta.

68. But he denied it saying, "I neither know nor understand what you are talking about." So he went out into the outer court. (Then the cock crowed.)

69. La servante, l'ayant vu, se mit de nouveau à dire à ceux qui étaient présents : " Celui-là en est ! "

69. The maid saw him and began again to say to the bystanders, "This man is one of them."

70. Et il nia de nouveau. Un peu après, de nouveau, ceux qui étaient présents dirent à Pierre : " pour sûr, tu en est; aussi bien, tu es Galiléen. "

70. Once again he denied it. A little later the bystanders said to Peter once more, "Surely you are one of them; for you too are a Galilean."

71. Alors il se mit à faire des imprécations et à jurer : " Je ne connais pas cet homme dont vous parlez. "

72. Et aussitôt, pour la seconde fois, un coq chanta. Et Pierre se souvint de la parole telle que Jésus la lui avait dite : " Avant que le coq ait chanté deux fois, trois fois tu me renieras; " et il éclata en pleurs.

72. And immediately a cock crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, "Before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times." He broke down and wept.
