Ezéchiel, 43

1. Il me conduisit ensuite à la porte, la porte qui était tournée vers l'orient.

1. Then he led me to the gate which faces the east,

2. Et voici que la gloire du Dieu d'Israël ve-nait de la direction de l'orient. Sa voix était comme la voix des grandes eaux, et ta terre resplendissait de sa gloire.

2. and there I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. I heard a sound like the roaring of many waters, and the earth shone with his glory.

3. L'aspect, de l'image que je vis était comme l'image que j'avais vue lorsque je vins pour détruire la ville, et ce qu'on voyait était comme l'image que j'avais vue près du fleuve Chobar; et je tombai sur ma face.

3. The vision was like that which I had seen when he came to destroy the city, and like that which I had seen by the river Chebar. I fell prone

4. Et la gloire de Yahweh entra dans la maison par le chemin de la porte dont la façade était dans la direc-tion de l'orient.

4. as the glory of the LORD entered the temple by way of the gate which faces the east,

5. Alors l'Esprit m'enleva et me fit entrer dans le parvis intérieur, et voici que la maison était remplie par la gloire de Yahweh.

5. but spirit lifted me up and brought me to the inner court. And I saw that the temple was filled with the glory of the LORD.

6. Et j'entendis qu'on me parlait du dedans de la maison, un homme se tenait debout à côté de moi. Il me dit: "Fils de l'homme, c'est ici le lieu de mon trône, le lieu où je poserai la plante de mes pieds, où j'habiterai au milieu des enfants d'Israël à jamais. 7 La maison d'Israël, elle et ses rois, ne souilleront plus mon saint nom par leurs prostitutions, par les cadavres de leurs rois et par leurs hauts lieux,

6. Then I heard someone speaking to me from the temple, while the man stood beside me.

7. The voice said to me: Son of man, this is where my throne shall be, this is where I will set the soles of my feet; here I will dwell among the Israelites forever. Never again shall they and their kings profane my holy name with their harlotries and with the corpses of their kings (their high places).

8. en mettant leur seuil auprès de mon seuil, et leur poteau auprès de mon poteau, de sorte qu'il n'y avait que le mur entre eux et moi, souillant ainsi mon saint nom par leurs abominations qu'ils co-mmettaient et je les ai exterminés dans ma colère.

8. When they placed their threshold against my threshold and their doorpost next to mine, so that only a wall was between us, they profaned my holy name by their abominable deeds; therefore I consumed them in my wrath.

9. Maintenant ils éloigneront de moi leurs prostitutions et les cadavres de leurs rois,et j'habiterai au milieu d'eux à jamais.

9. From now on they shall put far from me their harlotry and the corpses of their kings, and I will dwell in their midst forever.

10. Toi, fils de l'homme, fais connaître à la maison d'Israël cette maison, afin qu'ils soient confus de leurs péchés, et qu'ils en mesurent le modèle.

10. As for you, son of man, describe the temple to the house of Israel (that they may be ashamed of their sins), both its measurements and its design;

11. S'ils sont confus de tout ce qu'ils ont fait, apprends--leur la forme de la maison, son ordon-nance, ses issues et ses entrées, ses formes, tous ses règlements, toutes ses formes et toutes ses lois; mets tout cela sous leurs yeux par écrit, et qu'ils gardent toutes ses formes et tous ses règlements et les mettent en pratique"

11. (and if they are ashamed of all that they have done,) make known to them the form and design of the temple, its exits and entrances, all its statutes and laws; write these down for them to see, that they may carefully observe all its laws and statutes.

12. Tette est la loi de la maison: Au sommet de la montagne, son territoire tout à l'entour est saint des saints. Telle est la loi de la maison.

12. This is the law of the temple: its whole surrounding area on the mountain top shall be most sacred.

13. "Voici les mesures de l'autel en coudées, la coudée étant d'une coudée et d'un palme: Le chéneau a une coudée de hauteur et une coudée de largeur, et le rebord qui est sur son pourtour a un empan.

13. These were the measurements of the altar in cubits of one cubit plus a handbreadth. Its base was one cubit high and one cubit deep, with a rim around its edges of one span. The height of the altar itself was as follows:

14. Tel est le socle de l'autel. Du chéneau qui est sur le sol au cadre infé-rieur Il y a deux coudées, et la largeur est d'une coudée; du petit cadre au grand cadre, Il y a quatre coudées, et la largeur est d'une coudée.

14. from its base at the bottom up to the lower edge it was two cubits high, and this ledge was one cubit deep; from the lower to the upper ledge it was four cubits high, and this ledge also was one cubit deep;

15. Le Harel a quatre coudées, et de l'Ariel en haut s'élèvent les quatre cornes.

15. the hearth of the altar was four cubits high, and extending from the top of the hearth were the four horns of the altar.

16. L'Ariel a douze coudées de longueur sur douze coudées de largeur; il forme un carré parfait.

16. The hearth was a square: twelve cubits long and twelve cubits wide.

17. Le cadre a, de ses quatre côtés, quatorze coudées de long sur quatorze coudées de large, et le rebord qui l'entoure a une demi coudée; il a tout autour un chéneau d'une coudée; ses degrés sont tournés vers l'orient.

17. The upper ledge was also a square: fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits wide. The lower ledge, likewise a square, was sixteen cubits long and sixteen cubits wide, with a half-cubit rim surrounding it. And there was a base of one cubit all around. The steps of the altar face the east.

18. Et il me dit: "Fils de l'homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici les lois de l'autel le jour où il sera construit, afin d'y offrir l'holocauste et d'y faire l'aspersion du sang.

18. Then he said to me: Son of man, thus says the Lord GOD: These are the statutes for the altar when it is set up for the offering of holocausts upon it and for the sprinkling of blood against it.

19. Tu donneras aux prêtres lévites qui sont de la postérité de Sadoc et qui s'approchent de moi, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh, - pour me servir, un jeune taureau en sacrifice pour le péché.

19. Give a young bull as a sin offering to the priests, the Levites who are of the line of Zadok, who draw near me to minister to me, says the Lord GOD.

20. Tu prendras de son sang et tu le mettras sur les quatre cornes de l'autel et sur les quatre angles du cadre, et sur le rebord tout autour, et tu feras l'expiation de l'autel et sa propitiation.

20. Take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar, and on the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim all around. Thus you shall purify it and make atonement for it.

21. Tu prendras le taureau qui aura été offert pour le péché et on le brûlera dans le lieu réservé de la maison, en dehors du sanctuaire.

21. Then take the bull of the sin offering, which is to be burnt in a designated part of the temple, outside the sanctuary.

22. Le second jour, tu offriras pour le péché un jeune bouc sans défaut, et tu feras l'expiation de l'autel comme on l'a faite pour le taureau.

22. On the second day present an unblemished he-goat as a sin offering, to purify the altar as was done with the bull.

23. Quand tu auras achevé de faire l'expiation, tu offriras un jeune taureau sans défaut et un bélier du troupeau sans défaut.

23. When you have finished the purification, bring an unblemished young bull and an unblemished ram from the flock,

24. Tu les présenteras devant Yahweh; les prêtres jetteront sur eux du sel et les offriront en holocauste à Yahweh.

24. and present them before the LORD; the priests shall strew salt on them and offer them to the LORD as holocausts.

25. Pendant sept jours tu offriras en sacrifice un bouc pour le péché, chaque jour; on offrira aussi un taureau et un bélier du troupeau sans défaut.

25. Daily for seven days you shall offer a he-goat as a sin offering, and a young bull and a ram from the flock, all unblemished, shall be offered

26. Pendant sept jours on fera la propitiation de l'au-tel, on le purifiera et on le consacrera.

26. for seven days. Thus atonement shall be made for the altar, and it shall be purified and dedicated.

27. Les sept jours achevés, le huitième jour et dorénavant, les prêtres offriront sur l'autel vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices pacifiques, et je vous serai favorable, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh."

27. And when these days are over, from the eighth day on, the priests shall offer your holocausts and peace offerings on the altar. Then I will accept you, says the Lord GOD.
