Apocalypse, 21

1. Et je vis un nouveau ciel et une nouvelle terre ; car le premier ciel et la première terre avaient disparu,

1. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

2. et il n'y avait plus de mer. Et je vis descendre du ciel, d'auprès de Dieu, la ville sainte, une Jérusalem nouvelle, vêtue comme une nouvelle mariée parée pour son époux.

2. I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3. Et j'entendis une voix forte qui disait : " Voici le tabernacle de Dieu avec les hommes : il habitera avec eux, et ils seront son peuple; et lui-même il sera le Dieu avec eux, il sera leur Dieu.

3. I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, God's dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people and God himself will always be with them (as their God).

4. Et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux, et la mort ne sera plus, et il n'y aura plus ni deuil, ni cri, ni douleur, car les premières choses ont disparu. "

4. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, (for) the old order has passed away."

5. Et Celui qui était assis sur le trône, dit:"Voici que je fais toutes choses nouvelles. " Et il ajouta : " Ecris, car ces paroles sont sûres et véritables. "

5. The one who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." Then he said, "Write these words down, for they are trustworthy and true."

6. Puis il me dit: " C'est fait! Je suis l'alpha et l'oméga, le commencement et la fin. A celui qui a soif, je donnerai gratuitement de la source de l'eau de la vie.

6. He said to me, "They are accomplished. I (am) the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give a gift from the spring of life-giving water.

7. Celui qui vaincra possédera ces choses; je serai son Dieu et il sera mon fils.

7. The victor will inherit these gifts, and I shall be his God, and he will be my son.

8. Mais pour les lâches, les incrédules, les abominables les meurtriers, les impudiques, les magiciens, les idolâtres et tous les menteurs, leur part est dans l'étang ardent de feu et de soufre : c'est la seconde mort. "

8. But as for cowards, the unfaithful, the depraved, murderers, the unchaste, sorcerers, idol-worshipers, and deceivers of every sort, their lot is in the burning pool of fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

9. Alors l'un des sept anges qui tenaient les sept coupes pleines des sept dernières plaies, vint me parler et me dit: " Viens, je te montrerai la nouvelle mariée, l'Epouse de l'Agneau. "

9. One of the seven angels who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come here. I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."

10. Et il me transporta en esprit sur une grande et haute montagne, et il me montra la ville sainte, Jérusalem, qui descendait du ciel d'auprès de Dieu,

10. He took me in spirit to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.

11. brillante de la gloire de Dieu, et l'astre qui l'éclaire est semblable à une pierre très précieuse, à une pierre de jaspe transparente comme le cristal.

11. It gleamed with the splendor of God. Its radiance was like that of a precious stone, like jasper, clear as crystal.

12. Elle a une grande et haute muraille, avec douze portes; à ces portes sont douze anges, et des noms inscrits, ceux des douze tribus des fils d'Israël.

12. It had a massive, high wall, with twelve gates where twelve angels were stationed and on which names were inscribed, (the names) of the twelve tribes of the Israelites.

13. II y a trois portes à l'orient, trois portes au nord, trois portes au midi et trois portes à l'occident.

13. There were three gates facing east, three north, three south, and three west.

14. La muraille de la ville a douze pierres fondamentales sur lesquelles sont douze noms, ceux des douze apôtres de l'Agneau.

14. The wall of the city had twelve courses of stones as its foundation, on which were inscribed the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15. Et celui qui me parlait tenait une mesure, un roseau d'or, pour mesurer la ville, ses portes et sa muraille.

15. The one who spoke to me held a gold measuring rod to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.

16. La ville est quadrangulaire, et sa longueur est égale à sa largeur. Il mesura la ville avec son roseau, jusqu'à douze mille stades ; la longueur, la largeur et la hauteur en sont égales.

16. The city was square, its length the same as (also) its width. He measured the city with the rod and found it fifteen hundred miles in length and width and height.

17. Il en mesura aussi la muraille, de cent quarante-quatre coudées, mesure d'homme, qui est aussi mesure d'ange.

17. He also measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits according to the standard unit of measurement the angel used.

18. La muraille de la ville est construite en jaspe, et la ville est d'un or pur, semblable à un pur cristal.

18. The wall was constructed of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass.

19. Les pierres fondamentales du mur de la ville sont ornées de toutes sortes de pierres précieuses ; la première base est du jaspe; la deuxième, du saphir, la troisième, de la calcédoine; la quatrième, de l'émeraude;

19. The foundations of the city wall were decorated with every precious stone; the first course of stones was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,

20. la cinquième, du sardonyx ; la sixième, de la sardoine; la septième, de la chrysolithe; la huitième, du béryl; la neuvième, de la topaze; la dixième, de la chrysoprase; la onzième, de l'hyacinthe;

20. the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh hyacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.

21. la douzième, de l'améthyste. Les douze portes sont douze perles; chaque porte est d'une seule perle ; la rue de la ville est d'un or pur, comme du verre transparent.

21. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made from a single pearl; and the street of the city was of pure gold, transparent as glass.

22. Je n'y vis point de temple, car le Seigneur Dieu tout-puissant en est le temple, ainsi que l'Agneau.

22. I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God almighty and the Lamb.

23. La ville n'a besoin ni du soleil ni de la lune pour l'éclairer, car la gloire de Dieu l'illumine, et l'Agneau est son flambeau.

23. The city had no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gave it light, and its lamp was the Lamb.

24. Les nations marcheront à sa lumière, et les rois de la terre y apporteront leur magnificence.

24. The nations will walk by its light, and to it the kings of the earth will bring their treasure.

25. Ses portes ne seront point fermées chaque jour, car il n'y aura point de nuit.

25. During the day its gates will never be shut, and there will be no night there.

26. On y apportera ce que les nations ont de plus magnifique et de plus précieux;

26. The treasure and wealth of the nations will be brought there,

27. et Il n'y entrera rien de souillé, aucun artisan d'abomination et de mensonge, mais ceux-là seulement qui sont inscrits dans le livre de vie de l'Agneau.

27. but nothing unclean will enter it, nor any (one) who does abominable things or tells lies. Only those will enter whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
