Nehemiah, 4

14. And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, [which is] great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

Proverbs 21:31: "The horse prepares for battle day, but the Lord gives victory." Nehemiah took precautionary measures to protect himself from the attacks of enemies, but acknowledged that the victory came from the Lord.

Ephesians 6:11: "Coat of all God's armor, that you may be firm against the shrewd cunning of the devil." Nehemiah encouraged workers to protect themselves with weapons as they recognized that the fight was not only physical but spiritual.

Nehemiah 4:20: "In the place where you hear the sound of the horn, you will gather with us; our God will fight for us." This verse reflects the confidence of Nehemiah and the Jews that God would fight for them and protect the work they were doing.
