In Jeremiah 44, God condemns the people of Judah for their continuous disobedience and for persisting to worship foreign gods. The people refuse to hear God's message and claim that they will continue to worship the "Queen of Heaven." Deuteronomy 28:15: "However, if you do not obey the Lord your God, and carefully follow all your commandments and decrees that I give you today, all these curses will come upon you and reach them." This verse shows how God warned the people of Judah to obey their commandments or face serious consequences.
Exodus 20:3-6: "Thou shalt not have other gods before me. Thou shalt not make it a sculpted image, nor any figure on heaven, nor under the earth, nor in the waters under the earth. You will not even worship them, for I, the Lord, your God, I am a zealous God, who punishes the iniquity of parents in their children until the third and fourth generation of those who despise me. " This verse emphasizes the importance of God's exclusive worship and how idolatry is a serious sin.
Isaiah 66:3-4: "He who sacrifices oxen is like who kills a person; who offers sheep is like who breaks the neck of a dog; who presents cereal offers is like who offers pig blood; who burns incense is like who He loves an idol. They choose their own ways, and pleasure in their abominations; so I will also choose what afflicts them, and bring upon them what they feared so much. Because, when I cried, no one answered; when I said, they They didn't hear. On the contrary, they did what was bad in my eyes and chose what displeases me. " This verse shows how God reproves the worship of idols and how those who persist in following their own ways are punished.
2 Chronicles 36:16-17: "But they moved from the messengers of God, despised their words and ridiculed their prophets, until the wrath of the Lord lit against his people and there was no remedy. So he brought Against them the king of the Babylonians, who killed his young people to the sword in his sanctuary home and spared neither young people, nor women, nor the elderly, nor the sick; He handed over to the hands of his enemy. " This excerpt from the second chronicles describes the disobedience of the people of Judah to the words of God and the warnings of their prophets. This disobedience resulted in the wrath of God and its consequent punishment, which manifested itself through the Babylonian invasion and the massacre of the people. This relates to Jeremiah 44, where the prophet rebukes the people for continuing in their sinful ways and for refusing to hear God's Word, which would lead to more divine destruction and punishment.
