Exodus, 17

1. And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and [there was] no water for the people to drink.

Exodus 17 narrates the history of the battle between the Israelites and the Amalequites, in which Moses intercede to God while Joshua leads the battle. Here are five verses related to the topics covered in this chapter:

Exodus 15:3: "The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name." This verse describes God as a warrior, which is relevant to the battle described in Exodus 17.

Deuteronomy 25:17-19: This excerpt recounts the battle between the Israelites and the Amalequites, which occurred in Refidim. Verse 19 is especially relevant, for it declares that God commanded the Israelites to completely destroy the Amalequites.

Psalm 121:2: "My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth." This verse emphasizes confidence in God in times of difficulty, something the Israelites demonstrated during the battle in Exodus 17.
